About us

CEFA aims to provide cost effective services particularly to small events with limited budgets, although it is happy to consider any event requiring first aid services. In doing this, it also aims to provide a pool of well trained and experienced first-aiders, and equipment, available to assist in community emergencies. CEFA first-aid responders all have current HLTAID011 (old “level 2”) qualifications, most have in addition HLTAID015 (“advanced resuscitation”) and anaphylaxis and asthma training, and many have additional qualifications as well. All CEFA first aiders are volunteers – their training and uniforms are supplied, and simple expenses reimbursed, but they receive no payment for their time. The fees charged cover these expenses, keeping equipment and supplies up to date, insurance and various statutory expenses.

The First Aid Team

  • 2012:  First formed in the Bairnsdale area
  • 2016: Teams From Warragul / Latrobe joined, and CEFA took on its current form.
  • With the advent of first-aid provider licensing, CEFA was licensed as a "Basic" level service:
    • Early 2022:  Provisional license
    • September 2022:  Formal License
    • June 2024:  License renewed to June 2026
  • January 2026: Upgrade to "Intermediate" level service.   View Certificate
    • April 2026: License renewed to June 2028
